My name is Miss.Thecla Ezenwa. I am from Nigeria. I have been working in software testing for 4years.
Currently, I am working as a software tester at Nexus 23rd Century Limited, where we are following the agile framework in my current project.
My work involves analysing requirements, getting it clarified from BA/PO, manual testing of new features. I am using Selenium for web UI automation with Java as a programming language.
I use Jira and Github as a test and defect management (tool).
Why did I choose the testing field?
During my internship days in NipeX (Nigeria Petroleum Exchange) I was opportuned to work on a project. I was involved in the beta testing and change management meetings with no prior knowledge on software testing. So I started a research on software testing, how it’s in high demand, offers high growth, high paying career, how you'll always be needed and will find no lack of leading companies trying their hardest to recruit you and that's how my interest was sparked.
The best moments of achievements was taking part in the User Acceptance Testing(UAT) conducted in the United Kingdom in 2019 for a proprietary software we developed for an oil and gas sector in Nigeria. I also got my ISTQB certification at the same time.
Figuring out an automation testing tool to channel my energy on was a challenge at some point. I attended some conferences where I was introduced to so many tools and am trying to figure out which to learn.
Over the years in my testing journey, I ensured I attend conferences on QA and software testing so as to gain new knowledge on testing. I have been in two projects where the agile methodology was used and it was worth it.
